I am a creator, a maker, and storyteller. My foundation in design has led me to take on roles as in art direction, brand development, and user experience. My experience has touched a variety of industries. My proficiency in all facets of design, knowledge in front-end development, and leadership skills allow me to communicate ideas and improve products for the user. My experience in design leadership has allowed me to improve processes within the teams I’ve worked on, further evolving us to become a more efficient and cohesive team. I am a Certified Scrum Product Owner, as my role tends to evolve and overlap, with other disciplines and duties, all workin within an agile environment. Additionally, I am an advocate for DEI initiatives and am involved in programming to improve practices around diversity, equity and inclusion.

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive San Francisco Bay Area research and development team that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronic devices. As a Visual UX Designer here, my work focuses on design systems, interaction and visual design.

Senior UX Designer & Product Design Lead, Transamerica – Denver, CO | July 2017 - October 2020

Design Lead for the Workplace Experience and the Individual Experience - As the liaison between the business, utility pods, and the design team, I sit on the Leadership Pod, supporting with a knowledge of the business, design thinking, and UX strategy. It is my job to manage design, prioritize, and meet deadlines, all while delivering on business value. These products focus on our clients’ employee management as well as individuals enrolled in Transamerica benefits and insurance. 

Design Lead for the Cardinal Design System - In the role, I have managed four designers and two front-end developers, while contributing to design implementation. Additionally, I have aided in the transition from a centralized pod to a federated design model. This role allows me to research industry best practices as well as ensure the best use cases and interactions for our seven digital products.

UX/Visual Design Consultant, The Creative Group, SPS Division – Seattle WA + Denver, CO | Nov 2016 - May 2018 Robert Half

The Creative Group has a division called Salaried Professional Services (SPS). This is group of top tier designers and developers that represent a wide array of industry backgrounds and hard-to-find expertise.

  • Transamerica – Denver, CO | User Experience and Visual Designer Working on the Digital Platform Team, I was one of the first designers that Transamerica had since moving digital in-house. I worked on improving our products to ease the management of financial services. I contributed to both user experience and visual design for a web application. Primary tools in this project are Sketch, Invision, and Zeplin.

  • Providence Health and Services – Seattle, WA | User Experience and Visual Designer On the Digital Innovation team, I worked on the mobile application to help patients to schedule visits to see a doctor in-person at participating urgent care facilities. I carried designs from conception, to wireframing, and onto delivery, development, and QA.

  • Alaska Airlines – Seattle, WA User Experience and Visual Designer | I was brought on facilitate a new vision for the future site for the Virgin X Alaska merger. I assessed the current site and provided design solutions for a better experience and more polished and modern look.

Art Director, Wunderman – Seattle, WA | Aug 2016 - Nov 2016

As part of the Microsoft Team within the agency, I worked on a range of projects for Xbox, Windows and Surface & Devices, and Microsoft Office. The work entailed visual design and illustration for email campaigns for Microsoft’s newest and most popular devices. I contributed to projects for Xbox’s Year In Review, FIFA ‘17, Minecraft and Microsoft Surface.

UX/Visual Designer, Microsoft HQ – Redmond, WA | Feb 2015 - Aug 2016

On the OneDrive-SharePoint team (ODSP), I worked on experience and visual design for marketing and inproduct materials. I was involved in conceptualizing, wireframing, prototyping, redlining and applying visual design for web and mobile platforms. My most prominent role was to maintain the look and feel of Onedrive.com.

My role here was to create both print and web graphics while maintaining the Sesame Communications brand. Many of these materials were taken to trade shows and conferences to further market Sesame Communications’s services.

Graphic Designer and UX Designer, Valore Partners (formerly Statêra) – Tempe, AZ | Mar 2013 - Feb 2015

I handled all stages of design for print and digital materials for marketing, landing pages, and mobile application and user experience and user interface design. Upon relocating to Seattle, WA, I took on a new role as a subcontractor, working remotely to execute and deliver the design of a virtual assistant kiosk, which included both interface and voice design.
